This review is from: Junior Helper Sweeper (Toy)
My daughter, who is obsessed with all things that vacuum, would have loved this little Scylling sweeper, and we had intended to buy it for her this Christmas. I remember loving my grandmother’s 1950′s sweeper as a kid. So, how cool an idea: A mechanical sweeper, kid-sized, that really cleans!
Then we saw this toy in a local toy store. Predictably, it was love at first sight. My daughter WANTED this toy badly. But then we tried using it, and found out it’s not-so-great after all. The wheels make the thing really hard to push, and often the sweeper just sort of flips up because its wheels are lousy. Also, it didn’t seem to do so hot when it came to picking things up (not surprisingly). Its underside indicated everything was properly intact, and so I just have to assume it’s cheap and poorly designed.
Fortunately, a few days later we found a Bissell Perfect Sweep at a local thrift store for $3. Both the kids love it, and because it’s made to work, it’s easy to push. Even though the handle is too long, the kids make do quite nicely. And the real bonus? Now the kids are actually fighting over who gets to clean. Ha ha, who would’ve imagined (Now how can I make doing the dishes this fun? hmmm…) The lower-end Bissell, by the way, retails for about the same amount as this toy sweeper and seems to get an average of 4 stars. Besides, mom can use the Bissell too… if the kids will allow her a turn.
Avoid this toy and buy the real thing. I think you’ll be glad you did.

|Sweeper is alright, but doesn’t “clean” as my daughter might like.,
This toy is alright, but my daughter wants it to really work….it does, but not that well.
